Did you know that regular cleaning of your boat and the correct use of specific cleaning products is essential to extend the life of your boat?
Cleaning the hull and deck (gel coat):
Gelcoat coated surfaces need specific protection and care to keep them shiny and rust-free. Below, we propose the actions to be carried out for the correct maintenance of the hull and deck of your Menorquín.
To clean the new fibre hull, we recommend using neutral pH soap. If there is a lot of dirt, you should use a specific gel coat degreaser, always diluted in the proportions indicated on the packaging and with the surface wet to prevent the products from attacking vinyl or metallic elements. Never use dishwashing soaps, as they leave a layer that over time yellows or could burn the shine, nor hand protection gel (its composition is not suitable for this use).
To maintain the shine of the gel coat, the following process should be carried out regularly (the frequency depends on the use of the boat, the weather conditions to which your Menorquin is exposed and the indications of the product used):
1. Polishing
2. Polishing
3. Waxing
This procedure should be carried out on the entire gel coat surface. This ensures an excellent finish and maintenance.
